This time of year. Thinking about the annual summer training at Cape Cod, New Jersey Shore, the beaches of Florida or the mountains in California. There are two things you need to take care of well before loading the car with luggage and get all attached to their belt. An overheating blown a tire or radiator are some things that can put an enormous obstacle to your trip.
Get your car and have checked all the maintenance you have to do at least two weeks before your trip is planned to start in this way, if nothing major arises during the inspection of vehicles, you can take into load without the report of the cancellation your summer vacation.
Set an oil change and once more for your car
The first thing to do is take your car for an oil change. During the oil, make sure your dealer or service station is more than just change the oil. They should check your tires, both air pressure and tread level, check all fluid levels of transmission, brakes, radiator, windshield, etc., and also check all your belts , hoses and windshield wipers for wear. In addition, they should also check all your lights. You do not want to have fired more than a brake light. Go to the inspection report of the car and make sure they have not missed something and you understand that the maintenance work must be done.
Replace worn belts, hoses and tires before leaving.
Do you need new belts and hoses or new tires to replace the thin, which are currently on your car? That the annex of work to do before they leave the store, be sure to follow. Although the tires can be a bit expensive to replace, belts and hoses are fairly cheap. Always replace at least two tires at once, even if only one of them is bad. You always want your tires to the front or back of your car to have the same level of turnover. So if one of your front tires is bad, replace both the tire and the tire with the second lowest level of turnover, then rotate your tires.
Get your heater ready for summer
It is logical to provide a radiator hunting. You do not want to be halfway up a hill or in the middle of the summer heavy traffic near a toll booth to the overheating of your car, get your radiator flushed and ready for the summer heat. I lived in Los Angeles for several years and every summer, it was inevitable that some cars are overheating while trying to escape from the hill of the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles and ultimately, the preservation of the movement of km, or they sit and wait on the roadside to roadside assistance to arrive with their water heaters. A flush of the radiator may have prevented most of these situations.
Check your air conditioning too.
The low level of freon will reduce your air conditioning efficiency and performance, but it is a fairly cheap set top freon for your car air conditioning. If you need more freon, ask your mechanic to check the system ac to a leak. May it be something that can wait until you return from your trip to take charge, but the chances are that if you need freon, you have a leak somewhere.
Be prepared for emergencies
Now that your vehicle is ready for your trip, make sure to prepare for other emergencies that arise. Keep a flashlight and a set of cables in the trunk and look for a road emergency kit. If you have AAA, make sure you have your membership card in your wallet. Also make sure you know where your registration information and insurance is maintained so that you can get there quickly in an emergency or a police stop. Organization to keep peace of mind while you're on the road.
Now all you have to do is fuel the car and enjoy your trip!
